Chivalry is NOT Dead

#1 to me today: "J is one of my best friends, but we don't play together on the playground because he likes to chase the girls and I protect them"

It doesn't take much

It doesn't take much to make #1 happy. On the way to enjoy more fun Fall festivities, we drove through some fairly significant snow. #1 shouted "This is like the best day ever! It's like Halloween and Christmas at the same time!!"

Crazy talk

My conversation with monkey #2 before nap:

Me: I'm going to change your diaper and then you're going to take a nap.
#2: No way, Jose. Crazy mama. BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. BlogBooster is a multi-service blog editor for iPhone, Android, WebOs and your desktop

Gives a new meaning to photographic memory

Poor #1 is so afraid of insects, especially bees. There is a wasp nest outside our kitchen door and they are apparently a problem on the school playground. At times he is consumed by thoughts of bees and worries he will be stung. This morning driving to school he was talking again about bees. The rest of the conversation went something like this:

Me: Why don't you try to forget about bees for a while.
#1: Mom, I can't just forget. It's not like my brain is full of pictures and I can just throw out the pictures of what I want to forget. BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. BlogBooster is a multi-service blog editor for iPhone, Android, WebOs and your desktop

He's got skillz

#1: Hey, mom. When I was little I used to be able to jump rope and juggle. I actually juggled mattresses. But when I got older I lost my skills. BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. BlogBooster is a multi-service blog editor for iPhone, Android, WebOs and your desktop

16 Brains and Counting

Tonight in the car, Monkey #1 started explaining to us what's going on in his head. He has decided he has a family of brains in his head. Each brain is responsible for a different thing that he thinks. For example, he has a brain for all of his animal information, and a brain that tells him what he likes to eat, etc. He told us that he made the brain that controlled his bad choices leave his head and now he feels much happier. And, apparently, his head contains a house for the brain family, but also a city where the brains can go shopping, or on vacation, etc. If a particular brain is out(perhaps shopping) then he can't think about whatever that brain controls until it comes back. He said more and more brains will move in as he needs to learn new things (like math - his example). Right now he thinks he has about 16 brains and expects to get 100 more eventually.

He's really thought this all out (wonder which brain controls that ;) ).
